San Benito County Opioid Task Force Reframes Messaging & Outreach for COVID-19

The San Benito County Opioid Task Force is making great progress in refocusing and reframing their prevention efforts in the time of COVID-19. In addition to moving forward with MAT training with law enforcement, they are currently using pharmacies to distribute their takeback envelopes so that community members may mail in unused prescriptions in lieu of an in-person take back day.

With school closures, the coalition is also working on an opioid awareness social media campaign in place of presentations and distributing flyers tailored for students and parents around substance use, stress, and anxiety during this time.
